Miibody and Clara
A taste of paradise
My friend had been tweeting their creations on Tomodatchi Life, reaching a larger audience than expected. People from different walks of life coming together to appreciate a Mii listening to Madonna’s Erotica. Silently, a conversation started bubbling beneath the surface of quote retweets.
One netizen commented that the youth flock to games like Tomodatchi Life: Living the dream, due to a lack of stability in modern life. I guess they have a point; anything can be that deep if you think about it enough. But also Tomodatchi Life is fun.
It’s fun to play god.
A giant looking into a petri dish. Controlling everything.
Who will fall in love?
Who will become enemies?
What food will they like?
What food will they hate?
It gives you a rush.
Even if we lived in a perfect world, we would most certainly still be playing Tomodatchi Life. It’s just human nature.
Despite my longing for the game, I unfortunately do not have a Switch (yet, maybe one day). But in May, I had my chance, and I took it. Peabody, Clara, and Illya made a splash in OOMFcity.
On a trip to my friend’s house, I was given the privilege of playing the game on their Switch. We spent our days playing the game. We sped- run relationships to my new addition to their island. They fell in love, developed crushes, made friends, and made enemies.
Now that I’m back from that trip, I get updates on how they are doing. Clara is living her best life. Illya was going to confess to Peabody, but Peabody never showed up
. Art does imitate reality.
If you want to hear more about Peabody, Clara, and Illya. I’m going to be posting more about them, so subscribe if you want to check in on how they are doing!
Until next time,
MG
